United States History & Government is offered to all students as a regents level course. It focuses on the history, geography, economics and government of the United States and will stress both chronological and thematic approaches to the course of study. Additional focus will be placed on constitutional/legal issues and on the role of the US in the global setting.

Grades are based on map work, essays, projects, extended time tasks, as well as traditional homework assignments and tests. Classwork and homework assignments make up the bulk of the final grade, the Regents exam counts 1/5th. At the end of the course students will take the NYS United States History & Government Regents Exam, which must be passed before graduation.
