Animal Science 2

This semester we are discussing Livestock, Production and Exotic Animals

Some fun projects include making ice cream (Dairy Unit), poster on a famous horse (Horses), making goat cheese (Goats), Soap in a Sweater (Sheep), etc. Various visits from our farm animal friends!
Plant Science 2
- This semester we have planted a variety of seeds and are currently in preparation for our spring annual flowers plugs to arrive. Approx. 3,000 plugs will be arriving after Spring Break!
- Current greenhouse activities include:
- Midnight Pearl Black peppers continue to grow and we are hoping they will be ready by the end of May
- our potted dwarf sunflowers were just beautiful!
- watermelons continue to grow- we are hoping to grow square watermelons as they mature.We hope to place the fruits into plexi-glass boxes that students have created to produce square shaped watermelon.
- Large pumpkin seeds will be started after break as well. We are hoping that these seeds will grow to pumpkins weight almost 1,000 pounds
Adv. Environmental Science
- 2010 Jefferson County Envirothon Competition- Students are working in groups to compete in the county Envirothon on April 28th at the Thompson Park Zoo. Categories of competition include Aquatics, Wildlife, Forestry, Soil Science and a Current Issue Topic (Water Quality and Quantity)
