Community Update re: Unsubstantiated Threat via Social Media
10/19/2018
This morning the Indian River High School, with support from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, continued the investigation into the non-specific social media threat that was circulating late last night. We would like to reassure the IRCSD community that there is no credibility to this threat. A small portion of a non-threatening conversation was partially overheard and later shared on social media. This inaccurate information was then amplified via social media. There was no threat and there is no threat to the Indian River High School. We thank the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department for their quick response and assistance in a thorough investigation. As always we continue to keep the safety of our students and staff as our highest priority.
